Too Much Sleep is a feature film written and directed by David Maquiling. The film
premiered at the South by Southwest Film Festival in 1997. After a series of other
festivals, the film opened at the Anthology Film Archives in NYC, with Angelika Films as
distributor. After receiving critical acclaim from The New York Times, The New York Post,
The Village Voice (Top 10 Films of 2000), and others, The Shooting Gallery Inc. acquired
the movie for further distribution. In 2001, Too Much Sleep opened in 16 cities nationwide
at Loews Theatres, and was nominated the following year for an IFP Independent Spirit
Award. Roger Ebert gave the film 3 stars and called it, "Rich, droll..enormously amused by
the way people invent themselves as characters, and allows itself to be entertained by
their preposterous sublimity." The film can be seen on the networks and can be
purchased from New Filmmakers.
Marc Palmieri played the lead role of Jack Crawford. The film is expected out on video
soon.
Some press on Marc's performance in Too Much Sleep:

The Village Voice
"Palmieri, reminiscent of Anthony Michael Hall during his darkest days, succeeds in
injecting just the right amount of life into an otherwise stuporous character." -IndieWire
"An appealing, deadpan performance by Marc Palmieri." -NY Daily News
"Palmieri is a big shambling blond with obvious star quality." -Chicago Tribune
"Nicely played by lead Marc Palmieri." -Variety
